Past research projects in the Behavioral Sciences Department leaned heavily upon the use of a complex, audio equipment array interposed between human subjects and researchers. Requirements to distribute audio information from a single source to several destinations, and the need to mix serveral audio signals into a single channel could not be met by reasonably priced commercial equipment. Therefore, a distribution amplifier and a mixer amplifier were specially designed and manufactured from commonly available components. Within the human voice range these amplifiers worked well with good fidelity and long term reliability, and were found to be versatile instruments for handling a wide range of audio combinations.
