Abstract:

The modified phase-space theory of reaction rates has been used to calculate the three-body recombination and dissociation rate coefficients of hydrogen in the presence of H2, He, Ar, and Xe collision partners. The theoretical predictions, which rely on semi-empirically derived interatomic potential information, ar shown to be in excellent agreement with the measured rate coefficients over wide temperature ranges.
