Two refinements in oscilloscopic recording were made which improve considerably the recording of isolated events in heavy current discharge studies, where substantially rectangular pulses are employed. The accuracy of the method employed has been verified experimentally to be in the region of 0.01 to 0.1 percent. The first refinement is a unit for the differential suppression of the incoming signal by an adjustable amount, and the second refinement is a system by which time markers are sent to several oscilloscopes at adjustable time intervals simultaneously with the actual incoming signal.
