In a continuing effort to improve the comfort and working efficiency of persons wearing various protective clothing systems, a sweating cylinder to test the heat and water vapor transfer characteristics of such systems was designed, constructed and tested. With this equipment, the heat and water vapor transfer through a carbon-treated polyurethane-nylon tricot laminated clothing system was determined under a wide range of simulated environmental conditions.
