Abstract:
Stellar fluxes of the order of 10 manoergssec Acm squared for 10-eV photons have been observed for several bright ultraviolet emitting stars. These observations were made from the OGO-VI scanning Lya experiment whose resonance absorbtion filter suppressed the strong HLya airglow, enabling weak external enhancements to be observed. Five separate orbits of data revealed point-source enhancements. Observation with an SrF2 background light filter established that less than 10 of the observed signals could be at spurious wavelengths. Author
