Abstract:
Theoretical study of the relation between the angular divergence and spectral characteristics of the light beam of a laser operating in various pulsed modes. Discussed specifically are the dependence of the spectral composition of a laser beam on its angular divergence in the case of nondegenerate modes the dependence of the spectral width of a laser beam on its angular divergence in the case of strongly degenerate modes the dependence of the kinetic behavior of a laser on the angular divergence of its light beam, and the dependence of the spectral width of a laser beam on the kinetic behavior of the laser. It is concluded, that, regardless of its angular divergence, the spectral width of a laser beam tends to become smaller when the dependences of all the generated modes are about equal. Author
