Abstract:
In addition to the experimental investigations a preliminary theoretical analysis was carried out to determine some of the basic operating characteristics of the system and to provide direction for future studies. In particular, a solution to minimize the shift in the mean position of the transformer pistons during transient conditions changes in system load flow was sought. The theoretical analysis assumed an ideal system and an incompressible nonviscous fluid. The experimental results provide a means of obtaining the various component, and system, characteristics under steady-state conditions. Author
