The response to wind of an unguided rocket to be fired near its maximum range capability is analyzed. It is demonstrated that both the range unit wind effects and the range wind-weighting factors become highly nonlinear with respect to the wind field, thus making the use of ordinary field techniques of impact prediction impractical. It is therefore, recommended that such rockets be fired in a real-time impact prediction mode. Author
