Abstract:
Water flow past a certain bottom-laid hydrophone can excite vibrations which are sharply peaked in frequency at 4.5 Hz. The strength of the resulting electrical signal can sometimes be an embarrassment. The hydrophone signal has also been used to monitor the tidal flow, the horizontal particle motion due to surface waves, and the horizontal particle motion due to short-period internal waves. Author
