Abstract:
Tests show that when using a mixture of detergent and antioxidant additives the most unexpected results are possible. A solution to this problem would considerably simplify the selection of the composition of additives for oils which satisfy the requirements imposed by modern supercharged internal combustion engines. On the basis of the above, the solubilization ability of detergent and antioxidant additives and mixtures of them were tested. The ability of the additive to increase solubility was evaluated from the intensity of the colloidal dissolution of the dye Rhodamine C in isooctane. Detergent additives belonging to compounds such as succinimides and copolymers, and also barium phosphate were studied the antioxidant additive was zinc diaryl dithiophosphate.
