Abstract:

A new practical method is proposed for determining the tooled dimensions in the mutually interchangeable adjustment of metal-cutting machines, as it would apply in evaluating the permissible measured wear of a tool. This method involves machining specially prepared parts blanks using two sets of critical characteristics 1 with minimum allowances tolerances and minimum hardness temporary resistance, and 2 the largest critical characteristics. Authors mention that a number of original errors are not taken into account using this method, and they include geometric errors in the equipment, random assembling errors at the installation and in fastening components, measuring errors and temperature deformations of parts, tools and equipment.
