The four problems that were investigated are 1 the development of a probe to measure molecular speed ratio and its application in nozzle flows and free-jet expansions, 2 surface measurements heat transfer, skin friction, and surface pressure on a sharp flat plate and on wedges in hypersonic flows in the transition from free-molecule to continuum flow, 3 pseudo-transpiration at an orifice and its effect on measured pressures, and 4 studies using speed-ratio probes to determine the structure of the viscous shock layer on a sharp flat plate.
