Measurements of ionic conductivity in AgCl doped with ferrous and ferric ions were completed. The results were consistent with the tetravacancy model of the ferric ion. The activation energy of conductivity and of the reversion process from ferric to ferrous were estimated to be 8 and 15Kcalsmole respectively. Internal friction studies in AgCl yielded a value of 0.51eV for the formation enthalpy of the silver ion vacancy. The recovery process is explained in terms of dislocation pinning by point defects. Experiments on the injection of hot electrons in AgCl are still in the preliminary stage. Multiple spin echos arising from strong coupling of the spins to the resonant cavity were observed in TiO2V4.Spin-lattic relaxation of V4 impurities in TiO2 was also measured at liquid helium temperatures.
