The report describes research under the contract in the following 7 areas The study of the plasma state of matter from a statistical mechanical point of view, i.e., the general many-body problem, and problems involving collective behavior Basic studies in plasma regime where plasma and quantum mechanical effects overlap Investigation of phenomena associated with the quantum nature of plasmas in the solid state The interplanetary plasma and geophysical problems associated with the interactions of the solar wind and the earths magnetosphere Interpretation of observed spectra and dynamical processes in the solar and stellar atmospheres Study of the detailed nucleogenesis in a star including the effect of rotation and magnetic fields and Analysis of the equilibrium and physical phenomena in the interstellar gas.
