Abstract:

The IR spectra of 11 monoethers of phenylethylene glycol which possess intensive activity were studied. A change in the structure of the alcohol radical of the indicated compound does not cause noticeable changes in the IR spectra. The only significant change noted is displacement by 15cm of the frequency of vC-O-C toward the side of higher values in the case when R is CH3. No connection was found between the insecticidal activity of the investigated monoethers of phenylethylene glycol with their IR spectra. Author
