Abstract:

Computer programs are presented and described for analysis and design of linear arrays of parallel straight-wire antennas. The first of these is suitable for determining current distributions, input impedances, and field patterns for radiation problems where the positions and values of the feed voltages and load impedances are known. The second program can be used to find array feed voltages necessary to provide given values in some desired field pattern. The third handles the gain maximization problem in that feed voltages are determined that will maximize the gain of an array of loaded wires in any specified direction. The last program is suitable for treating scattering problems where an array is irradiated by a plane wave due to external sources. Here, current distributions, scattered field patterns, and bistatic radar cross-section patterns are computed for given array geometry and loading and the propagation direction of the incident wave.
