Abstract:

The weight equations of closed and open systems for the storage and transportation of liquefied gases are examined. Relationships which define the parameters of systems with minimum weight are obtained. It is shown that when selecting the type of system it is necessary to analyze systems of both types, because their effectiveness is determined by many parameters and in a number of cases the closed-cycle system is to be preferred, despite the presence of a liquefying machine.
