Briefly mentioned is research in four problems 1 The electronic and magnetic properties of liquid metals containing transition metal paramagnetic ions has been deduced. Both localized and distributed moments were seen and a regular pattern was apparent. A theory has been developed to interpret the phenomena. 2 Precipitation and clustering of interstitial gas atoms in refractory metals has been studied using both internal friction and electron microscopy. 3 Diffusion of hydrogen in bcc metals has been investigated using the Snoek peak. Formation of hydrides in Nb and V has been correlated with studies of phase diagrams. 4 An investigation of anomalous self- and substitutional diffusion has been concluded. Author
