Static and dynamic tests on a tubular specimen were made using Watertown Arsenals high pressure laboratory equipment. The tube was put under triaxial stresses by hydrostatic and hydrodynamic pressures, respectively. Pressures in the tube and strains on the outer surface of the tube were measured. Strains were also calculated using Lames and pertinent elasticity equations. On plots of strains versus time, the measured strains were smaller than the calculated strains. Author
