Abstract:

A gallium arsenide light emitting diode, with emission wavelength range from 6000 to 7000 A, and a driver amplifier assembly are used to simulate the signal produced by a Doppler shift laser velocimeter LV. The light source device is then used to check the entire electronics portion of the LV without assembling the LV optical components. The frequency domain optical response of the device was found to be flat from 0 to about 15 MHz. However, usable optical output was obtained at 100 MHz. Author
