Abstract:
The purpose of the work is to develop a camera-tube using an electrostatically focused image-tube section, a flood-gun for cancelling-out ambient information, a storage-target capable of going over first cross-over only when the threshold set by the flood-gun is exceeded, and a vidicon-type gun which will be used to generate a beam which scans the reverse side of the storage-target and generates an output signal only if the storage-target has exceeded the first cross-over. The camera-tube being developed uses sections of various types of tubes which are commercial items. A great part of the effort expended on this contract is the combination of these sections into a single workable tube. A preliminary design of this camera-tube was developed. Author
