Abstract:
One-station, two-station, and three-station, active and passive, non-directional, continuous wave doppler systems are analyzed for targets moving along straight line paths with uniform speed. Accurate frequency information as a function of time is assumed. For fundamental reasons the one- and two-station systems are incapable of uniquely fixing the target path although they can determine target speed and minimum range. The three-station system overdetermines the target motion, but in practical applications the redundant information can be used to resolve multiple target ambiguities. Author
