Abstract:

Fifteen basic esters of 1-phenylcycloalkanecarboxylic acids were examined as reversible inhibitors of bovine erythrocyte acetylcholinesterase. All the compounds showed weak competitive or mixed inhibition of the enzyme. No correlation was found between the inhibitory potencies of the compounds and the protection which they afforded to sarin-poisoned rodents when administered together with 1-methylpyridinium-2-aldoxime methanesulfonate.
