Abstract:

The document is concerned with research in social change, and emphasizes the social change associated with economic development. In view of the large number of projects and variety of subjects covered, an effort has been made to abridge the final reports of the principal investigators of each of 33 projects. It should be emphasized that the small space given to each study cannot properly describe many facets of the research undertaken by individual investigators.
