The report describes an investigation of methods of measuring the electron density in a reentry sheath. The methods include 1 excitation of electroacoustic resonances, 2 observation of enhanced breakdown, 3 short pulse diagnostics and 4 analysis of flush-mounted electrostatic probe characteristics.
