Abstract:

The report concerns the problem of investigating the reserve for increasing efficiency and effectiveness in pressure-processing of high-strength steels which are difficult to deform. In performing this work a study was made of the possibility of improving the deformability of steels of the martensite and martensite-austenitic classes by proper selection of a rational regime for softening thermal processing, the use of warm rolling and rolling in a state of supercooled austenite. The test materials were high-strength heat-resistant EP56 and EP451 steels. The investigations revealed definite possibilities for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of steels of the martensite and martensite-austenitic classes, hardened by alloying and difficult to deform, by means of deformation in a state of supercooled austenite low-temperature thermomechanical processing method. In addition to these advantages in the process of steel deformation in a state of supercooled austenite, the method precludes special inter-operation temperings. Author
