Abstract:

The report presents results from one phase of the problem of atomic solar lines in the infrared. It contains machine prepared tables of electric dipole transitions probabilities for many atomic spectral lines in the region 0.8 - 2.5 microns. The elements covered are AlI, CI, CaI, CaII, FeI, KI, MgI, MgII, NaI, SiI, and SiII. These calculations have been made by assuming LS coupling and by using the Coulomb approximation for the radial matrix elements according to Bates and Damgaard. Line positions and effective quantum numbers have been calculated from empirical values for energy levels. These are given by the NBS publications on atomic energy levels. Author
