An investigation and evaluation is given on the possible application of radar-optics imaging methods. The discussion concentrates largely on microwave holography. Problem areas and alternatives are treated, including a brief discussion on thinned array techniques. The analytical work centers on array imaging, sampled reconstruction, and sensitivity-noise effects. In addition to other system considerations, an example is given comparing microwave and optical setups. Finally, an examination is made of experimental back-up in terms of requirements, advantages, frequency selection, and appropriate optical simulation.
