Abstract:
Several factors influencing external visibility criteria for aerospace vehicles are discussed. Design aids and tools are developed to aid the crew station designer confronted with providing external vision. A computer program is listed for generating various visibility plots on a CALCOMP or a SC-4020 cathode-ray tube plotting machine. Transformation information is presented to plot planar windows formed from straight lines andor circles. To show the application of the design aids and the computer program, a conceptual high LD lifting body vehicle configuration was used throughout the report as an example. Author
