Abstract:

To simulate the revolution of an artificial satellite around a center of mass, a test stand on a self-aligning bearing with air lubrication was developed. Moments of friction and touching are very small in this system, which revolves around a single vertical axis. A photoelectric eye measures the angular rate of the platforms rotation and the results are electronically transferred to an automatic tape recorder.
