Abstract:

The article describes the impulse control system and the control algorithm developed for steel mill operations between the open hearth section and the blooming mill. A structural diagram of the system consisting of a control computer at the higher level and automatic railroad devices, visual signal display unit, manual input terminals, and locomotive and sensors at the lower level is presented.
