Abstract:
The report describes the basic types of accelerating mechanisms which are operational in stationary plasma accelerators and gives a brief survey of theoretical, calculated and experimental investigations which were carried out by the author. The report is an analysis of 3 questions. 1 Basic principles and properties of stationary plasma accelerators. 2 The essence of stationary compression flows and feasibility of magnetoplasma compressors as thermonuclear devices. 3 Possible arrangements for transient thermonuclear reactors with external magnetic fields.
