Abstract:
A method is proposed for calculating the heat transfer from disk to the air and the specific heat capacity of air assuming that the thermal conductivity of the disk material varies with the radius. One lateral surface of the disk is cooled by air bled from under the deflector, and the opposite surface is cooled by air bled from under the housing. The equation is solved by the successive approximations method. The temperature field was calculated for a turbine wheel having the following parameters gas temperature before turbine, 935 degrees C gas temperature at turbine blades, 810 degrees C gas flow rate, 0.91 kgsec air temperature at the disk center, 205 degrees C total air flow rate, 0.011 kgsec revolutions, 38,700 rpm number of blades, 47 fir tree-type roots. The temperature field of the disk cooled on one side is shown. Author
