Abstract:

The Hsien Feng Electrical Machinery Plant in Shanghai recently produced a multiple electron cavity for use in electrostatic accelerators being used in Chinas nuclear research program. The new cavity has a service life four times greater than that of the old type and eliminates the need for tedious, time-consuming periodic cavity replacements and enables Chinese electrostatic electron accelerators to meet international quality standards.
