Abstract:
A comparison of columnar content values calculated from Doppler slope and polarization data is given. Measurements were obtained simultaneously from radio beacon signals transmitted by the S-66 BEC satellite at 40, 41, and 360 MHz. The error of the Doppler method is 5 the error of the polarization method is 3. The ratio of the columnar content values varies between 0.75 and 1.22 larger deviations are related to horizontal gradients which affect mainly the precision of the Doppler data evaluation. Author
