Abstract:

Photolysis of H2S at 2490 A has been used to generate H atoms and redetermine the rates of their reaction at room temperature with several selected olefins. The initially produced hot hydrogen atoms were thermalized by additions of a large excess of carbon dioxide. The relative rate constants obtained are compared with the earlier determinations and with another independent recent redetermination in this laboratory. The values obtained by the three independent techniques are in very good agreement. Author
