Abstract:
Early in September 1965 Italy was concerned with a period of persistent bad weather conditions that gave exceptionally heavy precipitation. An upper cold depression moved from England to the Gulf of Lions and then back to its former location. As the above-mentioned depression was shifting southwards, a cyclogenesis developed at surface in the Genoa Gulf. Thunderstorms and five frontal perturbations crossed Italy one after the other, moving eastwards in a prevailing southerly flow. The results of the detailed analysis of these perturbations are here reported. Author
