Abstract:

The overall efficiency of an ac electrically-driven fuel booster pump over a wide range of frequency has been reported in a general performance study. To find the effect of speed on the efficiency of the pump itself, the input-output characteristics of the motor alone have been measured so that the motor and pump losses could be separated. The maximum pump efficiency varies from 10 at about 2500 revmin to 37 at about 7500 revmin. In addition to supplementing the earlier work, it was considered worthwhile to present the results since they may prove of more general interest regarding centrifugal pump characteristics. Author
