Shock flow studies explaining the absence of separated shock flow by Taylor instability are mentioned. Also summarized are flux transport and arc spectroscopy experiments. In the latter, 4 eV plasmas are produced. New experiments with magnetically boosted shock tubes, with shocks in current-carrying plasmas and with high field theta pinch devices are mentioned. Author
