Abstract:
The convective motion in a horizontal fluid layer heated from below is investigated using Boussinesqs approximation. Applying the method of Schmidt-Lyapunov solutions with cellular structure are obtained as branching solutions of the nonlinear boundary-value problem. The number of branches and their behavior near the bifurcation point is determined for the following types of cellular flow rolls, squares and hexagonals. Author
