The broad objectives of the program were to investigate alkali-halide scintillators and silicon and germanium radiation detectors with x rays and charged particles, to determine intrinsic physical properties while also leading to new practical applications of these devices in the low energy x-ray region. The report summarizes the work actually performed and the new directions and applications that resulted from the work, and concludes that the objectives of the originally proposed research were satisfactorily accomplished.
