Abstract:
The variation of elastic moduli of Hooke materials with temperature is interpreted from a thermodynamic point of view both in the case of compression or tension and in the case of torsion. Correlations are established among the variation of entropy of a test-piece consequent of an isothermal normal or shear stress and the coefficient of thermal expansion, the temperature coefficient of the E and G elastic modulus and the imposed deformation.
