Abstract:

This memorandum describes portable equipment developed to record variations in visibility when conducting field trials of night vision aids. The variation in the atmospheric transmission is measured by recording the apparent brightness of an incandescent filament lamp viewed over ranges which may be varied to suit the particular trial. The equipment has been used successfully out to a maximum range of 1000 metres. Author
