Abstract:

Divergent approaches to stimulus complexity and individual differences in structural complexity are reviewed. A series of three experiments designed to test effects of environmental complexity information load, failure, and success and structural complexity on differentiation and integration in decision making were conducted. Previous findings for effects of information load and failure proportions of information on integration in decision making were replicated. Implications for theory and experimentation with complexity are discussed. Author
