When wedge prisms are placed before the eyes vision is displaced laterally, and consequently errors are made initially in localizing objects and in orienting responses. Humans and monkeys can correct these inaccuracies and adjust their behavior to the visual distortion if given exposure or training under appropriate circumstances. One aspect of the research represented an attempt to identify the processes which underlie and generate this phenomenon. Author
