Abstract:

A seven level encoder was breadboarded. A computer program was created to simulate the modem being breadboarded. The report gives a program computer that successfully simulates a 9600 bitsec data rate being carried, encoded, on a 2400 cps channel. CDC 7000 series computers have sufficient speed to make the use of this program economically feasible indefinitely. IBM-360-50 have a crosover of about 421 computer core dumps before the modem use becomes more feasible. Author
