Abstract:

There is an active focus of hemorrhagic fever with a renal syndrome in UFA, which is characterized by great variety in the conditions of infection of the population. Over a ten year period 1500 persons were stricken with this disease, while 65 of them were infected in the town. In 1965 and 1966 rat extermination was carried out in the forests of the town territory. As a result the incidents of infection dropped 22 times in comparison with control, on treated areas. The epidemiological structure of the diseases and its seasonal variation also changed markedly.
