An oceanographic instrument has been designed, and constructed, to record the radiance distribution of natural radiant energy underwater. Essentially the instrument consists of two back-to-back cameras equipped with fish-eye 180 field of view lenses packaged to be able to take photographs underwater upon command from the surface. From the films obtained, it is possible to determine the values of underwater radiance by means of photographic photometry. Author
