Abstract:

Impedance, current distribution and radiation characteristics were measured on various types of antennas in air and in water in continuation of examinations on small self-resonant helical antennas. Two methods of determining the conductivity and dielectric constant of a dissipative medium with graphical evaluation are described as an example of applying measurements of frame antenna directivity patterns. Radio communication was reached between the mine of Schwaz and the mine of St. Gertraudi by means of a 1600 sqm frame antenna and a new low-noise receiving amplifier. Preliminary examinations were made for geoelectric ore examinations, and a measuring probe was built for drill hole examinations.
