Abstract:
Cattells musical preference test, whose purpose is to diagnose certain personality factors isolated by Cattell, was given to 917 Swiss subjects of ages 10 to 21 of which 528 were male and 389 were female. The results from the above administrations are presented in graph form, allowing the study of their progression according to age and according to sex. From this, conclusions can be inferred about the variations of the factor loadings in the musical preference test all along the period studied - the degree of agreement between the factors postulated by Cattell and the prior statements of genetic psychology - the possible use of factors included in the test in a country such as Switzerland.
